The Basics of Sic Bo
Sic Bo can be enjoyed by one person alone, although it is more commonly played at a table crowded with players. Winning players may pick up their chips and begin betting again as soon as the table lights are turned off.
Sic Bo Bets and Payouts
Every player at the Sic Bo table is trying to predict how the three dice will land. They can predict one die, two dice, or all three dice in a number of ways. In fact, there are exactly eight universal betting possibilities, as follows.
Single Number Bet – Wagers are made on any of the six possible faces of the die that may appear, 1 through 6; payouts range from 1-to-1 for a single occurrence of the chosen number to 2-to-1 for two incidences and 3-to-1 for all three dice showing the selection.
Combination Bet (Pair Match) – This wager is on two different numbers coming up among the three dice, such as 2-3 or 4-6; it pays 6-to-1.
Doubles – This wager is on a specific pair of numbers coming up on two of the three dice, such as 4-4 or 6-6; it pays 10-to-1.
Triples – This wager is on the same specified number coming up on all three dice, such as 4-4-4 or 6-6-6; it pays at least 150-to-1 and as much as 180-to-1 in some casinos.
Any Triple – This wager is on any non-specified number coming up on all three dice; it pays 30-to-1.
Three Dice Total Bet – This wager is on a specific total, from 4 to 17, coming up when the pips on the faces of the three dice are added up; it usually pays 60-to-1 for the 4 or 17; 30-to-1 for the 5 or 16; 17-to-1 for the 6 or 15; 12-to-1 for the 7 or 14; 8-to-1 for the 8 or 13; and 6-to-1 for the 9 through 12.
