The Goal’s To Hit Multiple Jackpots!

Last week I wanted to concentrate on a particular cluster while playing 20-card keno, a cluster that allowed for the possibility of catching multiple jackpots if and when the numbers land into the pattern.

That’s nothing new; I’ve often posted patterns that feature 7-spot cards mixed with 9-spot cards, with the hope that eight numbers will fall into the pattern, creating a massive score that has included hitting all eight 7-spots along with an 8-of-9 jackpot.

This has worked with varying degrees of success by marking numbers in a complete row, such as the 71-80 row, or 61-70, etc.

Looking for winning keno patterns is an important part of playing the game. And learning how to take advantage of those patterns can be a benefit to the player. If you’re familiar with casino gambling, you know that casinos make their profits from having an edge (an advantage) on every game they have on the floor. However, there are rare instances when casinos have made mistakes. Cluster-pay games are a lot of fun, and they do offer massive winning potential, although often having high volatility. If you are a person who loves interactive games of matching symbols or patterns, we strongly recommend you to try grid slots!

This time, I wanted to use a more concentrated pattern, a 3-by-3 box of nine numbers, which would include eight 7-spot tickets in the “perimeter” of the box, with a 9-spot filling in all nine numbers.

As I often like to do, I also marked a “mirror image” cluster of the same pattern (see illustration). The first pattern was located in the top left-hand corner of the keno screen with its twin located in the bottom left-hand corner.

With the two additional keno cards available, I marked another solid 3-by-3 9-spot ticket that overlapped the original cluster, thus covering all 12 numbers both above and below the center line.

On Day 1 of this exercise, the patterns produced frequent hits including a few 6-of-7 and 6-of-9 jackpots, but the machine wouldn’t drop seven numbers into any of the 9-spot clusters.

I thought this was disappointing because ordinarily you can at some point count on seven numbers landing into a 9-spot pattern.

I began to experiment by shifting the 9-spot cards (note I wouldn’t move the eight 7-spot patterns – keno machines are notorious for dropping numbers into a space you’ve just vacated!).

Specifically, I moved the 9-spot card that had covered the eight 7-spots and put it on top of the adjoining 9-spot card, thus doubling up on that 9-spot ticket.

Eventually the machine gave in and dropped eight numbers into that doubled-up pattern, giving me two nice 8-of-9 jackpots.

Unfortunately, I never got beyond the 6-of-7 payoffs in the other pattern.

On Day 2 I played the same patterns on a different keno machine. This machine offered much more action than the previous one, hitting numerous 6-of-7 jackpots as well as a few 7-of-9 jackpots, all of which kept my credit meter up so I didn’t have to keep feeding money into the machine.

After awhile, I made the same change as the day before – moving the overlapping 9-spot card onto its sister.

Shortly thereafter, the machine dropped seven numbers onto the “perimeter” pattern of eight 7-spots, giving me a solid 7-spot jackpot coupled with seven 6-of-7 awards.

Eight numbers never landed in any of the 9-spot clusters.

Obviously, the goal is to have all nine numbers land into a pattern, which would create eight solid 7-spots and one solid 9-spot.

I’ve seen it happen, but it’s a rarity.

Nonetheless, when you can walk away with a solid 7-spot and/or an 8-of-9 jackpot, you’ve had a good session.

They’re not that frequent, any more, as many of our readers have pointed out.

Try this cluster and let me know how you fare.
